Exploring Metal in Design and Architecture

Metal is so much more than a technical material. It is packed with creative potential.

adpa architecture studio and Mayr Edelstahl- und Metallkonstruktionen have embarked on an interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of architecture, design, and metal craftsmanship. As part of this collaboration, adpa and Edelstahl Mayr invite you to an open house with metalworking workshop at the Home Offfice studio collective, where participants will create simple objects from metal themselves.

The event is aimed at designers, art and design enthusiasts, and anyone interested in gaining insight into materials, machines, and fundamental processes of metal fabrication.

The event begins with an introduction to key processes in metalworking by Maresa Mayr. In the subsequent workshop, participants will have the opportunity to work with metal themselves and create simple design objects, gaining hands-on experience with basic techniques and the material’s creative potential.

The format combines insights into craft practice with practical making and offers space for dialogue between craftsmanship, design, and architecture.
