Oliver Herwig

Design expert Dr. Oliver Herwig works as a journalist and presenter in Munich. He teaches design theory at the University of Art and Design Linz and the HfG Karlsruhe, and moderates conferences and panel discussions. He has received numerous awards for his journalistic work, including the Karl Theodor Vogel Prize for outstanding technology journalism and the COR Prize for Living and Design. He has received scholarships for stays in England, the USA, and Norway.

Science journalist in Tübingen, guest editor at *wallpaper in London, editor-at-large of nomad, articles in NZZ, SZ, FR, and FAZ QUARTERLY.

Current projects: “Home Smart Home. How We Want to Live” (Birkhäuser, 2022), “Real Estate of the Year” (Callwey, 2024), and “Healing Architecture” (Callwey, 2025).
