Rihards Funts

I am a designer, curator, educator, and founder of the International Design Summer School MAD. Since 2008, I’ve led a studio working across exhibitions, environmental, industrial, and graphic design, guided by art, craft, science, and social responsibility. After losing my sight in 2020, I reinvented my practice and continue working with support and determination. I focus on environmental accessibility and engage in design‑and‑disability projects such as DESIG*ness with partners in Latvia and Milan. I collaborate with Design Studio H2E, teach in various art and design programs, and pursue a PhD in Practice at the Art Academy of Latvia.
