In the second edition of »Flaggenzeug,« designer and artist Ayzit Bostan has adorned the flagpoles at the Department of Design’s historic armory.
As part of the »Flaggenzeug« project, twice-yearly artistic and design interventions at the Department of Design provide an opportunity for a playful exploration of the theme of flags. In this second edition, Ayzit Bostan, a designer and professor in the Department of Textile Product Design at the Kassel Art Academy, explores the theme of »Pause« in the sense of taking a moment.
The »Flaggenzeug« project encourages a playful approach to a subject that carries historical baggage, particularly in Germany. The curators invite creative practitioners from various disciplines to engage with the historic façade of the Department of Design in an unconventional manner, with the aim of discovering new rituals and cultural patterns for an object that fosters a sense of identity.
Project concept and curation: Tina Barankay and Prof. Markus Frenzl
On display all day on the façade of the department building.
